This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
saw your site, a nice piece of work, both the wallpapers and the layout design.
I'm a webdesign student, so I love judging those things. The design looks neat and the HTML is almost flawless, save form a shitload of unrecognised referers
for instance: unescaped & or unknown entity "&business"
the only reason the parser doesn't recognise this is because it's actually meant as something for the PHP or ASP script to use.
Also, the CSS is an absolute minimum and still gives a great result. Nice work
Thanks for your notice man ... i saw the problems when i tried to validate the html ..... the damn "&" sign was causing most of the error lines (i've replaced it with "&" and it passed validation, but i still gotta fix another problem in order for it to be perfect)
Funny thing though ..... i was expecting google to be valid, but no sirE ..... he's got some error isues too (ha ha)
Ta-Da dood ... i'm going back to work now ..... got a huge site in development ... wish you the best of luck
Also, I went across te entire wallpaper site and downloaded a bucnh of em.
One thing I noticed(and which bothered me a little) was the fact that each time I got a new page or refreshed the page, and I moved my mouse over the arrow buttons, they dissappeared for a while, since the hover image had to load.
To prevent this, it is possible to write a small Javascript and link it to your page externally, pre-loading the images for every page.
That way, you can basically make sure that every image that only appears do to hovering over a link or those links you've put up to facebook, del.icio and such, is allready loaded before the event is even triggered
i trust you know how to do so? If you want to do that offcourse. Like I said, it's only a small bother for me and it might affect your bandwith, I'm not sure
The flickering image effect appears only in IE ..... and i don't want to make any special rules for it (css or otherwise) ..... it's a dying browser anyway. I know many people still use it (my website stats show me a 40% IE users), but i hate it with all my heart & soul.
Anyway, i was trying to keep the HTTP requests to a minimum ... but, you're right ..... gotta do something about that anoying effect. Maybe i'll find a simple "no Javascript" way .... gotta look into it.
Thanks again for the useful feedback ..... hope we keep in touch and maybe "return" the favor
